CPD Accreditation: The CPD Certification Service, Provider No. 13197

Dr Shehzad Iqbal

Probity & Ethics is a CPD accredited organisation and a registered provider with The CPD Certification Service, Provider No. 13197. Every course on this website is CPD certified and CPD accredited by The CPD Certification Service, so the certificate you download carries CPD hours you can add to your CPD record, your appraisal or your revalidation, and send as evidence after a complaint or in a fitness to practise investigation. This page sets out what our CPD accreditation means, what your certificate shows and how to check our provider number for yourself.

Facing a complaint or investigation?

Your regulator, your employer or your adviser wants to see the steps you have taken. A CPD certified course gives you a dated certificate from an independently certified provider, and a reflection to go with it.

Planning your CPD?

You want ethics, probity or professionalism CPD that counts towards your record, your appraisal or your revalidation, from a CPD accredited provider you can name with its provider number.

In short

  • Yes. Probity & Ethics is a CPD accredited organisation and a registered provider with The CPD Certification Service (Provider No. 13197). Every course is CPD certified and CPD accredited, and each certificate records the course title, CPD hours and date.
  • The CPD Certification Service is an independent UK body that assesses CPD courses against its standards. You can check our provider profile and certified courses on its website.
  • The same certificate serves both situations: a complaint or fitness to practise investigation, where you need evidence of remediation, and your CPD record, appraisal or revalidation.
  • Subject courses are £79 (£50 with Bulk Buy 10) for 2 CPD hours, online and self-paced. Our courses are not accredited or endorsed by any individual healthcare regulatory body.

What does CPD accreditation mean for our courses?

The CPD Certification Service is an independent organisation in the UK that certifies continuing professional development. A provider registers with it, and each course is assessed against its CPD standards before it is certified. Probity & Ethics is a registered provider under Provider No. 13197, and every course we offer, from Probity for Healthcare Professionals to the Modules on Insight, Reflection and Remediation, is CPD certified.

For you, this means three things:

  • The CPD hours on your certificate come from an independently certified course, not from a figure we set ourselves.
  • You can name the provider and its provider number in your CPD record, your appraisal or your written response to a concern.
  • Anyone reading your evidence can check our accreditation with The CPD Certification Service.

What does your certificate show?

When you complete a course, your certificate is ready to download straight away. It records:

  • your name;
  • the course title;
  • the CPD hours (2 CPD hours for each subject course);
  • the date you completed the course;
  • that the course is CPD certified by The CPD Certification Service.

Keep the certificate with a short written reflection: what you learned, what you now do differently and how you will keep the change in place. Every course now ends with an optional Reflection Template you can print or save as a PDF for this.

How can you check our CPD provider number?

  1. Go to our provider profile: check our listing on The CPD Certification Service website.
  2. Check the provider name, Probity and Ethics, and the provider number, 13197.
  3. Look through the list of our certified courses on the same profile. Each of our course pages also links to that course’s own page on The CPD Certification Service website.

Which situations does a CPD certified course help with?

A complaint or a fitness to practise investigation. When a concern has been raised with the GMC, NMC, GDC, GPhC, HCPC, GOC, GCC, GOsC or Social Work England, or with your employer, a course on the subject of the concern, a dated certificate and a reflection show what you have learned and the steps you have taken. This is remediation: you choose the course that matches the words of your letter, conditions or undertakings.

CPD, appraisal and revalidation. Each regulator sets its own CPD rules. Our CPD accredited courses give you a certificate with CPD hours and a subject you can link to your professional standards, ready for your CPD record or portfolio.

Our courses are certified by The CPD Certification Service. They are not registered, accredited or endorsed by any individual healthcare regulatory body.

Are the courses accredited by my regulator?
